 1)

The ACPFG research program links extensive germplasm collections and associated genetic datasets to a wide range of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics technologies.

The Centre has access to:

 •  wheat and barley mapping populations

 •  key genes from species adapted to extreme environmental conditions

 •  cereal transformation, molecular marker and breeding programs

 2)  The ACPFG has identified a wide range of adapted germplasm.

 3)  Candidates for genes conferring tolerance to extreme cold and salt stresses from adapted exotic and Australian native grasses have been isolated.

 4)  The ACPFG has close associations with active and highly successful wheat and barley breeding programs, allowing rapid delivery of enhanced cereal lines to Australian farmers. The ACPFG also has close associations with other leading International institutions in the field.
