The ACPFG places high importance on the development of innovative and stimulating functional genomics and plant biotechnology education programs. The development of such programs is essential to raise both students and the community's awareness and understanding of the sophistication and potentials of modern agricultural technologies. Further, the development of inspiring education programs is essential to attract and then provide the next generation of researchers, advisors and consultants.

The ACPFG develops and updates education resources for community groups, primary, secondary, undergraduate and post graduate students, plant breeders and professionals in the industry.

The main goals of the Education resources developed by the ACPFG are to:

 •  Develop high quality innovative education and training resources of benefit to students, community groups and decision makers
 
 •  Promote wider understanding of the benefits and risks of plant functional genomics and plant biotechnology
 
 •  Produce scientists with a high level of research skills and first hand experience in genomics research and instrumentation
 
 •  Train students and scientists are trained to the highest international standards and are able to move into important positions anywhere in the world.
