Each year, the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics offers summer, Honours and PhD scholarships to high achieving students.
Choose from a range of projects in the genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, molecular genetics, protein structural analysis and bioinformatics fields.
Projects are available that work towards:

- Identifying and characterising the genes controlling adaptation to abiotic stresses in wheat, barley and model species.
- Developing improved genetic manipulation technologies.
- Defining the mechanisms used by adapted cereals to tolerate abiotic stresses and then transferring these genes into elite wheat and barley varieties.
- Developing abiotic stress tolerance markers for selection of adapted lines to be delivered through conventional breeding programs.
- Discovering novel genes conferring tolerance to abiotic stresses from native and exotic species of grasses that have unique modes of adaptation to stress in extreme environments.
The benefits of studying with the ACPFG:

To ensure you're in the strongest possible position when you move forward in your career, ACPFG scholarships provide opportunities for you to:
- Work alongside research leaders in the plant genomics field, who offer support and guidance.
- Have access to the latest to the latest technologies and facilities.
- Have the opportunity to work with our skilled commercialisation team who can help patent significant results.
- Have access to professional development and further training workshops.
- Have opportunities to go attend both National and International Conferences.
