Expertise and Research Interests

Plant genetics and gene study, molecular markers using and map construction, QTLs and genes localization, candidate gene identification and mapping, linkage analysis, marker assisted selection. Sodium exclusion from shoots, leaf tissue tolerance, salinity tolerance.

Crops: bread and durum wheat, diploid species in the genus Triticum (T. monococcum, urartu, tauschii), cultivated and wild barley (Hordeum vulgare and H. spontaneum), maize and interspecific hybrids between maize and gamagrass (Tripsacum dactyloides). Previous interests: grape and sugar beet.
