ACPFG aims to:

 •  Search for novel variants of genes that have helped other organisms conquer harsh environments. These genes can then be transferred into crop plants with the aim of producing superior more stress resistant varieties of wheat and barley.

 •  To commercialise novel products that will contribute to the sustainable prosperity of the Australian grains industry

 •  To deliver outcomes to farmers worth millions of dollars within a few years.

 •  To ensure Australia maintains its commercial competitiveness in the cereal crop industry
