ACPFG offers Summer Scholarships to Undergraduate students who are interested in a career in Agribiotech.

Summer scholars receive $AU 250 (tax exempt) per week for six to eight weeks, as well as relevant industry experience, and the opportunity to network and make valuable industry contacts.

Scholarships run for six to eight weeks from December to March each year. Scholarship start dates can be negotiated with your superviosr.

Who is Eligible?

Summer Scholarships are available to undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of a course for a Bachelor’s degree majoring in one of the following fields:

bullet Agriculture bullet Biology bullet Bioinformatics
bullet Biotechnology bullet  Computer Science bullet Genetics
bullet Mathematics bullet Molecular Biology bullet Physics
bullet Plant Physiology bullet Science bullet Statistics
bullet Software Engineering  

Strong academic performance, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in ACPFG research are required!

Application Closing Dates

Applications for 2009/2010 Summer Scholarships close Friday 16 October 2009 (for Adelaide).


Successful applicants will be notified by October 23rd 2009.

To apply for a Summer Scholarship at an ACPFG node (or to request more information), please follow these email links:

and send the following:

  1. Letter of interest. Outline why you would like to do a Summer Scholarship with ACPFG.

  2. Curriculum vitae (current). that includes the names and contact details of at least two professional referees.

  3. Copy of your academic transcript (scanned). Also, include a description of the grading system as appropriate.

Students will be required to sign an ACPFG confidentiality agreement when they commence studies.
